Take 2 Games Admin (2005-09-19)
Over the past weekend I put in so much time playing Dungeon Siege 2, that this morning I'm suffering a bit from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. :)

It took me a good few hours to really get into how DS2 works, as I never played the original Dungeon Siege. Fortunately the game is relatively straight forward to pick up and play. Also my time spent playing Buldar's Gate and Champions of Norrath on the PS2 also helped me considerably.

Even though I've probably played for 15 hours or more now there is still plenty if things I have to properly figure out and use. Like for example I want to still recruit a Pet to join my party as well as magically enchant my items.

So far I've been very impressed with the luscious graphics in the game. The are some excellent spot effect like the way the earth rips apart when you cast certain spells, or the way bodies part and limbs fly apart during a particularly vicious melee attack. You can also zoom in if you want to see the action from up close.

For me DS2 has the addictiveness factor one is always looking for in a game. You just want to play for a little while longer to see what other cool spells you can acquire, or what new quests you can be tasked with. The game also awards you if you take to the time to explore every nook and cranny for hidden treasures and weapons. At the moment the only thing holding me back from playing more is silly factors like work and the pain in my right hand.
