Its amazing! Who'd think that such a simple concept for a game could be so entertaining while helping you with some simple exercise.
If you've seen the arcade version of this game being played by kids and you've been too intimidated to try it out :), this is the perfect way to learn. I've tried the arcade version a few times and its awesome. I'm 27, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone above the age of 14 playing them.
The game play is easy, and it includes simple lessons to help you learn how to master both the basic and advanced steps. It has plenty of help for someone who's never played the game before.
The dance tracks are a little dated, but Konami are probably focussing more on the PS2 and X-Box versions of the game. And that doesn't make it any less fun.
Besides the pure entertainment of it, it can be quite a workout - one person commented the following "[it] was the catalyst for me being better to myself... starting to eat better, and also do some weight training. My health is improved across the board (weight, asthma, diabetes, blood pressure), it's great. I guess I was a wreck before. Who'd have expected this from a _video game_ (seeing as video games are a reason for why I was a wreck in the first place ;D)" (see http://weblogs.asp.net/tmiller/archive/2004/02/28/81666.aspx#82067)
I've lost many hours of sleep playing this game since it arrived, its addictive and is even more fun with a group of people. I imagine it will be even better once I get a 2nd dance mat and I can start to compete with friends.
